Welcome.
Hi, I am Pie.
Writing is the posture through which I engage the world and people around me. It sharpens my attention, demands I move at the pace of a pen, and increases my capacity for sharing knowledge, experiences, and a sense of wonder. It is a joy to connect with scholars, writers, and professionals across diverse sectors (as well as my students!) to share the ways that writing can help us enhance understanding and build new possible futures with intention and care.

Additional identities
Lifelong student
Whether drawing, music, or a new hobby, I believe it is critical for anyone engaged in teaching to also be engaged in learning and to remain proximate to the process and vantage point of being a beginner.
Creator
My most powerful experiences of learning have come from acts of creating. Whether through a conversation, the written word, or an artistic piece, creating is where we bring our distinctive intersection of identities (and their associated perspectives) into relationship with our material context.
Seeker
I will never be done journeying towards more knowledge, deeper relationships, and greater openness to what surprises there might be along the way. I believe that tangible and intangible worlds are constantly in conversation with one another, and will always be pursuing new ways to understand and live within this dialogue.
Mover
Being engaged in relationship with a dynamic world requires that we stay in motion and are able to adapt and change. Strength, agility, flexibility, and balance are not just tenants of physical movement and well-being, but also how I strive to design my life in terms of how I think, work, and engage the people I am in relationship with.
